A Different Kind of Technology

A new crown usually requires as many as two or three visits to the dentist. That is, unless your dentist uses the technologically advanced CEREC system. With CEREC, the injured tooth is scanned with an electronic camera linked to a video monitor. From this scan your restoration tooth is designed and automatically milled from a solid ceramic block, creating a fit accurate to 25 microns – less than the width of a human hair. And your restoration can be perfectly fitted and bonded in a one visit using Dr. Tankersley’s minimally invasive procedures to complete your restoration.

Creating porcelain inlays and onlays using advanced CEREC technology lets doctors do in one visit what could otherwise take weeks, while wearing a temporary crown. And there’s no need for those gooey, bad-tasting impressions required for traditional crowns. Ask Dr. Tankersley about one-visit crowns today.

We also provide the latest fracture and wear resistant Zirconium crowns.  Although Zirconium crowns take two visits they are often the proper choice for molars.

Thanks to CEREC, we can provide you with inlays, onlays and crowns in only one appointment.  The CAD/CAM system has been on the market for a good 30 years now and over 250 scientific studies have confirmed the clinical safety of tried and tested CEREC tooth restorations.
